Shoxbikes launching new workshop in St Saviour's Yard

A new not-for-profit community cycle workshop in Norwich is launching. Shoxbikes offers a range of services and opportunities. The workshop is based at Unit 57, St Saviour's Yard, Norwich. It is designed to provide employment pathways for individuals from marginalised backgrounds. The workshop is equipped to carry out a number of services, including live bike repairs and refurbishment activities. The initiative is creating pathways into employment for people from marginalised backgrounds, including people with experience of homelessness, addiction and the criminal justice system. A key feature of the venture is a Velotech-accredited cycle mechanic training programme. This training equips individuals with a marketable skill-set and helps create pathways into employment. The launch event on Saturday August 15, 10am - 4pm at Unit 57, St Saviour’s Yard, will showcase the workshop, live bike repairs and refurbishment, and the people behind the project. The organisation is beginning to build partnerships with local organisations and employers to create genuine routes into work.
